About Lindsay McCarroll Illustrations

Hi there, welcome to my page and thank you for allowing me to share a little piece of my creativity with you. My name is Lindsay and I am a self-taught artist living in Hamilton Ontario.

I create original watercolour and ink illustrations inspired by my neighbourhood including my favourite cafés, restaurants, breweries, storefronts. What started as a love of drawing the places around me has grown into a collection of some of Hamilton’s many local businesses.

Since I was young, I have always loved creating. I’d often doodle in the margins of notebooks, craft  or take on a DIY project. While I’ve always had a creative streak and took art in high school, I never pursued it and only sporadically picked up my paintbrush and pencils when the urge felt right. 

In late 2019 my family experienced the tragic loss of my younger brother. It was his sudden passing that made me dive back into art as a way to help me process it. My husband encouraged me to go online with my little shop, and creating has not only brought on personal healing but it allowed me feel closer to my brother in some way.

I continue to find inspiration in life around me, my local community, nature, traveling with my family, and childrens books. In addition to my art I am a wife and mamma to two young children-- my biggest inspirations and who have sparked my imagination and creativity further.

Each illustration begins as an original piece of artwork, created by hand using watercolour and ink. I then create high-quality archival reproductions so the artwork can be enjoyed as a print in your home. I also create custom illustrations for businesses, venues and special projects.
